DESCRIPTION:November 14\, 2015\, is the FOOD DRIVE Market Basket and Hannaf
ord in Biddeford   Club Members:  Look I get it\, you really don't need
another email from me\, but I feel I have to make a pitch for volunteers f
or the food drive on Nov. 14.  Again\, I understand that people do not wa
nt to give up part of their Saturday\, but we have not done a food drive f
or years and the need is greater than ever.  Believe it or not 15.1% of h
ouseholds in Maine have food insecurity\, a nice way of saying they are hu
ngry.  Over 64\,000 of our children in Maine go hungry.  Both of those s
tatistics rank us #1 in New England for something for which we do not want
to be on top.  Yet\, 40% of the Maine's hungry make too much money to qu
alify for food stamps and therefore have to rely on food pantries and othe
r private non-profit assistance for help.   So perhaps taking a couple of
hours out of our Saturday to help out our local food pantries might not s
eem so bad when that effort could help hundreds of children and adults in
our area who simply don't have enough to eat.  Next week\, please sign up
for a shift or two.  It will really help those who need a hand and I gu
aranty it will make you feel good at the same time.   Thanks again for he
 lping out.  Bill
