Club Meeting March 27, 2018
 
Opening and Welcome:  President Dick Kisiel opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and the recitation of the Rotary Four-Way Test.  Scott Seabury provided the invocation and led the club singing of “God Bless America”.
 
Members Present: Dale Baker, Joe Blake, Gayle Demko, Jed Dery, Natalie Donais, Gail Handley, Greg Heineman, Richard Kisiel, Jon Kozloski, Bob Lowell, Don Miner, Jack Muska, Roger Pratt, Jay Presser, Don Rawling, Charles Roumas, Scott Seabury, Gordon Stagg, Nancy Viggiano and Tami Zawistowski.  (20/33….60.6%).
 
Guests: Student of the Month Marissa Guzzo, Parents Kim and Paul Guzzo, friend James (member of Interact Club) and teacher sponsor Carl Casinghino.
 
Announcements: President Kisiel made several announcements:
 
- The vote was taken to schedule the Yardgoats’ game social for June 12, a minimum of 25 is needed.  Transportation will be arranged.
 
-Glad to have Bob Lowell with us this week taking a break from the scheduled travels!
 
-Dick is following up on the collaboration of the high school art dept with the brochure compilation.
 
PROGRAM: Carl Casinghino of the French/Media Dept of the high school introduced our Rotary Student of the Month, Marissa Guzzo, who he described as a dedicated and intellectually superlative student.  Marissa has recently been named a US Presidential Scholar, therefore a nationally recognized top student. Marissa has participated in internships with both Yale and Harvard.  Marissa worked to design an app to assist with anxiety and other disorders entitled “Feel Good”.  Marissa is looking forward to receiving college acceptance letters in the next couple of weeks.  The Rotary Club applauds Marissa for her excellent academic accomplishments and wishes her all the best in the upcoming future. 
 
Blue Ticket Winners: Blue ticket winner was Jack Muska with the only side won by Scott Seabury.
 
Queen of Hearts:  Roger Pratt had the winning red ticket but did not select the Queen of Hearts. Total winning pot now stands at $239+.
 
Birthdays and Anniversaries: None
 
Adjournment: Richard Kisiel closed the meeting with a group singing of “My Country ‘Tis of Thee”.
