Club Meeting November 6, 2018
 
Opening and Welcome:  Vice President Charles Roumas opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and the recitation of the Rotary Four-Way Test.  Scott Seabury provided the invocation and led the club singing of “God Bless America”.
 
Members Present:  Joe Blake, Gayle Demko, Jed Dery, Greg DiSantis, Natalie Donais, Gail Handley, Jon Kozlowski, Luis Lee, Don Miner, Jack Muska, Ken Pascoe, Roger Pratt, Jay Presser, Charles Roumas, Scott Seabury, and Nancy Viggiano.  (16/34….47%).
 
Guests:  Rotary Student of the Month:  David Danek, his parents Edward and Anne and brother Ed and  Coach Dan Gatto who nominated David for the award.
 
Announcements: Charles made several announcements:
Thanks to Ken Pascoe for scheduling the golf cart drivers for rides from the parking lot to the voting door.  With cold rain dominating  the voting day-rides were much appreciated!  We will look into signage for the cart for future use.  Thanks to those who volunteered to drive:  Ken Pascoe, Jay Presser, Natalie Donais, Gayle Demko and Nancy Viggiano.
 
Save the Date!  Our holiday party is scheduled for December 4 @ Crestview Country Club.  Details will follow.
 
Don Miner is attending an addiction taskforce opioid group with meetings scheduled at the Windsor Marriott.  Next meeting is Nov 19 @ 6 pm.  Don will keep the club posted on the results of the meetings.
 
PROGRAM:  Rotary Student of the Month.
Coach Gatto presented David for Rotary Student of the Month award indicating David encompasses all the qualities of a gentleman: he is polite, focused, humble, highest level of sportsmanship and yet determined and driven to succeed.  David is a captain and the backbone of his sport’s teams.  David noted that he works to make a difference; and states that his credo is “to help one person with one act (of kindness) at a time”.  He would like to pursue a career in Finance.
 
Blue Ticket Winners: Blue ticket winner was Ken Pascoe with a side won our guests who donated it back to the club.
Queen of Hearts:  Don Miner had the winning ticket and did not pull the Queen of Hearts.  Total winning pot now stands at $922+.
 
Birthdays and Anniversaries: Roger Pratt had a birthday!
Adjournment: Scott closed the meeting with a group singing of “My Country Tis of Thee”.

District 7890 has invited officers and club members from other clubs in our area to our meeting on Tuesday to enjoy a Membership Rally presentation/discussion hosted by Judith Green.
