Club Meeting November 13, 2018
 
Opening and Welcome:  President Dick Kisiel opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and the recitation of the Rotary Four-Way Test.  Scott Seabury provided the invocation and led the club singing of “God Bless America”.
 
Members Present:  Dale Baker, Gayle Demko, Jed Dery, Greg DiSantis, Frank DiGennaro, Natalie Donais, Gail Handley, Heidi Huhn Partain, Richard Kisiel, Don Miner, Jack Muska, Ken Pascoe, Roger Pratt, Jay Presser, Charles Roumas, Scott Seabury, Gordon Stagg, Tom Sullivan, Cat Thomas and Nancy Viggiano.  (20/34….59%).
 
Guests: Rotarians: Vince Tully, Earle Tarbell, John Bajumpaa, Ron Eleveld, Pam Lupoli, Judith Green with guests Dave Marti and Karen Andrew.
 
Announcements: President Kisiel made several announcements:
Dick welcomed the visiting Rotarians and guests to our meeting.
 
Holiday Party:  The Holiday Party is scheduled for Dec, 4 at Crestview Country Club.  The committee will finalize details for the event and sign ups will be sought at the next meeting as well as via email request.  Please respond to the email or sign up when it is distributed.
 
Sand & Salt:  Ken announced the event has been advertised in the Observer and he anticipates the need for two trucks to deliver the buckets to Seniors requesting them.  The delivery date is Dec 1.
 
Award:  Jay Presser was awarded a Paul Harris medallion with four sapphires in recognition for his generosity in donations to the Rotary Foundation.  Suffield Rotary applauds Jay for his kindness and generous heart.  Thanks Jay!
 
PROGRAM:  Dick introduced our speaker, Judith Green, the District Membership Chair who is also a Revenue Development Coach and Strategist.  Judith provided a handout and led exercises designed to elicit membership retention and Rotarian education.  These exercises demonstrated thru enthusiasm and participation the experience of members, both new and long-standing, will be enhanced and therefore more valuable.  We look forward to implementing her suggestions and appreciate the District’s participation and guidance which will enhance our organization.
 
Blue Ticket Winners: Blue ticket winner was Scott Seabury with sides winners Heidi and Greg D.
Queen of Hearts:  Don had the winning ticket and did not pull the Queen of Hearts.  Total winning pot now stands at $960+.
 
Birthdays and Anniversaries: Dale Baker celebrated a birthday.
Adjournment: Scott closed the meeting with a group singing of “My Country Tis of Thee”.
