Club Meeting May 28, 2019
 
Opening and Welcome:  President Dick Kisiel opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and the recitation of the Rotary Four-Way Test.  Scott Seabury provided the invocation and led the club singing of “God Bless America”.
 
Members Present: Dale Baker, Gayle Demko, Jed Dery, Greg DeSantis, Frank DiGennaro, Natalie Donais, Gail Handley, Greg Heineman, Heidi Huhn-Partain, Richard Kisiel, Jon Kozloski, Don Miner, Jack Muska, Paul Muska, Ken Pascoe, Jay Presser, Scott Seabury, Gordon Stagg and Tom Sullivan.  (20/63%).

Announcements: 
Dick congratulated the Wine Tasting Committee on the successful event which raised $4825 net.
 
The Scholarship Committee will meet at Dick’s home to review submissions and make awards this week.
 
Yardgoats social is scheduled for next Tuesday, June 4, tickets are $13 ea and Greg Heineman has reserved 30 tickets for Suffield Rotary.  Greg passed a sign up and will collect your payment either tonight or at the game.  Game starts at 7 pm.
 
Foundation Donations Due:  The mission of The Rotary Foundation is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty. Jay Presser asks members to either donate on line or thru him.  These donations will fund the grant opportunities three years from now and donations of $25 to $100 are appreciated.  The contribution form is attached.
 
Golf:  Jack announced three teams are paid for our August 9 tourney.  Raffle donations will be sought for this event!
 
Paul Harris:  June 25 at 6:30 pm at Suffield By The River.  We will take a group photo at this event!  And please bring any prospective members as this is a great Rotary showcase opportunity.
 
"Promise to Astrid”:  Scott invites all to attend the premier showing on Sunday, June 2 at 6pm at the Bethany Assembly of God on 580 Main St., Agawam, MA.  Scott, actors, the director and production personnel will be in attendance.
 
Program:
Dick provided a copy of the Suffield Rotary 2018-2019 goals for review; we have met the goals as outlined.  Congratulations Suffield Rotary on a great year!!
Ken noted our Guatemala water project support will end this year as will our Dominican water project support. 
Natalie Donais has been awarded a membership to the District Assembly for Youth committee.  We look forward to her leadership working with the Interact advisor and club.  We have two youth attending RYLA next weekend.
The club welcomed our newest member: Renae Ransdell. Renae has been attending meetings since March 17 and was a formidable raffle ticket purveyor at the wine tasting!  Formal induction will take place June 11.
 
Blue Ticket Winners: Blue ticket winner was Renae with side winners Gail H and Jack.
 
Queen of Hearts:  Dick K had the winning ticket and did not pull the Queen of Hearts.  Total winning pot now stands at $500.
 
Birthdays and Anniversaries: Scott was serenaded this evening.
Adjournment: Scott closed the meeting with a group singing of “My Country Tis of Thee”.
