Club Meeting: July 2, 2019
Opening and Welcome: President Gayle Demko opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and the recitation of the Rotary Four-Way Test. Scott Seabury provided the invocation and led the club singing of “God Bless America.”
Members Present: Gayle Demko, Jed Dery, Jackie Guzie, Gail Handley, Greg Heineman, Jackie Hemond, Heidi Huhn-Partain, Dick Kisiel, Jon Kozloski, Robert Lowell, Don Miner, Jack Muska, Ken Pascoe, Roger Pratt, Jay Presser, Don Rawling, Renae Ransdell, Scott Seabury and Cat Thomas. (18/34 = 53%)

Gayle Demko congratulated Jackie Hemond on the successful reopening of Kent Memorial Library. A grand opening ceremony was held on Saturday, June 29.
The club received three “thank you” notes from scholarship recipients Dario DeCosmo, Meghan Voisine and Cassidy Begley.
Paul Harris: Gayle Demko remarked on the great evening at the Paul Harris Award Dinner held on Tuesday, June 25 and congratulated Paul Harris Award Recipient Dick Kisiel.
Dues: Gayle Demko will be sending out an invoice for annual dues. Club members can pay by check, pay by credit card at the next meeting via Square (see Jon Kozloski) or pay by credit card on the website (direct link: Square is a portable and convenient credit card processing device that will be used at future fundraising events.
Golf Tournament: Jon Kozloski provided an update on the 28th Annual Glenn T. Packard Golf Tournament which will be held on Friday, August 9. Many teams have already signed up or committed to play, and we are about half way to our goal. Please send in your registration forms to Jon Kozloski. Raffle items are needed. This year, we are looking for different items, such as a gift certificate to your favorite restaurant or other items that tournament participants might enjoy. A meeting of the golf committee will be held at 5:15PM at Suffield Country Club before next week’s meeting on Tuesday, July 9.
Meeting Location: Gayle Demko noted that recent developments may require a change in meeting location. Our next meeting will be held at Suffield Country Club on Tuesday, July 9. However, please stay tuned for an update regarding any change to meeting location.
Blue Ticket Winners: Blue ticket winner was Ken Pascoe with no side winners (extra tickets).
Queen of Hearts: Cat Thomas had the winning ticket and did not pull the Queen of Hearts. Total winning pot now stands at $559.
Birthdays and Anniversaries: No birthdays were celebrated this evening.
Adjournment: Scott Seabury closed the meeting with a group singing of “My Country Tis of Thee.”
