Club Meeting April 23, 2019
 
Opening and Welcome:  President Dick Kisiel opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and the recitation of the Rotary Four-Way Test.  Scott Seabury provided the invocation and led the club singing of “God Bless America”.
 
Members Present: Dale Baker, Jed Dery, Frank DiGennaro, Natalie Donais, Gail Handley, Greg Heineman, , Richard Kisiel, Jon Kozloski, Ken Pasco, Jay Presser, Don Rawling, Scott Seabury, Tom Sullivan and Nancy Viggiano Guests: Our speaker, Chris Nikolis and Renae Ransdell (prospective member). 14/34-41%
 
Announcements: 
Dick welcomed our speaker and Renae to the meeting.
 
Nancy requests Rotary members to donate toward the raffle prizes available for the event, please bring your donations to the next three meetings and give to Natalie. The Suffield Cordial Shoppe on Mapleton carries craft beers and has agreed to serve a variety for tasting. She also shared a picture of the stemless wine glasses that each participant will receive compliments of the Bacher Corp. Dick has found a guitarist who is available that night to provide music and will get the info. Nancy encouraged members to sell their tickets! If people can please let Nancy, Natalie or Gayle know about how many tickets they have sold that will help in our planning.  We hope to fill the dining hall on May 17!
 
Scholarships are open to any Suffield resident whether they attend Suffield Public Schools or not.
 
Corn Hole Tournament sponsored by the Interact Club is set for Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Suffield High.  Flyers for the event were on the tables and Dick asked that we have several teams participate from Rotary.  Registration info is on the flyers and is done online before May 11th.
 
Collecting gratuity for wait staff at Suffield by the River to present April 30th.
 
REMINDER:  May 7th we return to Suffield Country Club
 
Program:
Chris Nikolis from PMC Kids Ride for the Jimmy Fund opened by thanking the Rotary for their past support of this and the Suffield Little League.  He shared his involvement with the Jimmy Fund and that the PMC Kids Ride began in Suffield in 2012.  Each year since its inception they have increased participation and amount raised.  In 2018, Suffield was #2 in the country. This year’s event is May 11th at McAlister Intermediate School.  He closed by saying, “It’s about kids and Suffield!”
 
Blue Ticket Winners: Blue ticket winner was Renae Ransdell with side winners Chris Nikolis and Dick.
Queen of Hearts:  Greg Heineman had the winning ticket and did not pull the Queen of Hearts.  Total winning pot now stands at $400.
 
Birthdays and Anniversaries: No birthdays were celebrated this evening.
Adjournment: Scott closed the meeting with a group singing of “My Country Tis of Thee”.
