Club Meeting May 14, 2019
Opening and Welcome:  President Dick Kisiel opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and the recitation of the Rotary Four-Way Test.  Scott Seabury provided the invocation and led the club singing of “God Bless America”.
Members Present: Dale Baker, Gayle Demko, Jed Dery, Gregory DeSantis, Frank DiGennaro, Natalie Donais, Gail Handley, Jackie Hemond, Heidi Huhn-Partain, Richard Kisiel, Jon Kozloski, Luis Lee, Jack Muska, Paul Muska, Ken Pasco, Roger Pratt, Jay Presser, Don Rawling, Scott Seabury, Tom Sullivan and Nancy Viggiano.  (21/31….67%).
Guests: Student of the Month Kyle Englander, sister Hanna Englander and friend Caitlin Ann; Adviser Noreen Harnett and proposed member Ginny Bromage and guest of Heidi, Rick Buttera.
Dick welcomed our SOTM, his sister and friend to the meeting and sponsor Noreen Harnett and welcomed Ginny to the meeting.
Nancy reported the Wine Tasting plans were moving ahead with anticipated attendance of 100+ with about 20 raffle prizes and silent auction items.  Hope for good weather and plan to attend!
Ken Pascoe noted the Paul Harris committee will meet after dinner to confirm award receipents for this June 26 event.
The Interact Club is hosting a Cornhole toss contest Saturday from 10 to Noon at the high school.  Come on down and watch the fun!
Yardgoats game is scheduled June 4; Greg Heineman will probably have a sign up next meeting for this event.
Dick notes the Opioid Brochure cost of printing and mailing to each household in Suffield will be funded by the four banks in town.  Windsor Federal initially agreed to fund the project and the other banks have agreed to come in as well.
Jackie announced the Library will reopen June 29; work is now underway to identify sections and set up the books in their new home!  Congratulations Jackie!
Dick introduced Noreen Harnett, the sponsor for this month’s Student of the Month.  Noreen described Kyle an exceptional student and humanitarian.  His volunteer work included Special Olympic participation as well as working to set up a non-profit water bottle program, Kyle was a member of the Suffield cross country team which came in 1st at New England’s.  Kyle excels at math and economics and will attend Harvard next year.    
Blue Ticket Winners: Blue ticket winner was Jackie Hemond with side winners Dale and Jack Muska.
Queen of Hearts:  Jed Dery had the winning ticket and did not pull the Queen of Hearts.  Total winning pot now stands at $373.
Birthdays and Anniversaries: No birthdays were celebrated this evening.
Adjournment: Scott closed the meeting with a group singing of “My Country Tis of Thee”.
