SPEAKER
Margo Swinburnson introduced "Distinguished Citizen of Canada", David King.  David refers to himself as a Citizen Politician committed to Democracy and Education.  David was a Rotarian for 15yrs. He spoke to club members and guests about education and the importance of drawing young people into understanding what it means to be a member of this community.  He says, "Education is the most important undertakings in any community." Through education, young people learn to be honest, reliable and empathetic.  David also spoke about the significant changes coming to our area with the election of a new School Board (SD 62 has 7 trustees) and Sooke's transition from a small to mid-sized jurisdiction. "Kids need one place to form deep relationships and schools provide us with a real opportunity," he enthusiastically shares.
