The meeting of the Rotary Club of Sooke, June 7 2017 was brought to order by President  John Toplolniski at 12:15pm.
Roger Temple led the Club in the singing of O Canada and then he offered the Invocation.
Kel Phair was acting as the Sargent at Arms at todays meeting.
John Topolniski advised us that the visit of our Thailand visitors here on a Rotary Friendship Exchange was a great success. All of our visitors appeared to enjoy the visit and the activities put together for their enjoyment and it offered them  an awareness of the activities and projects that the Sooke Rotary club undertakes.
John announced the anniversaries of two of our Rotarians. Peter Faulkner joined our club June 1, 1994 and Patrick Fallon joined June 1 2006.
Mark Ziegler announced there would be a World Community Service Meeting today directly after the lunch meeting.
 Trevor Colley talked about the great tragedies taking place in Great Britain and spoke on the welcoming nature of the British People and how this is a very sad time.
Trevor attended the Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps Navy League Cadee Corps Annual Ceremonial Review 2017. He said it was most a enjoyable and worthwhile event.
Roger Temple offered his thanks to all who helped with the visiting Thais and for all the driving and hosting done by Rotary Members.
He also reminded us of the upcoming meeting of the District Governor, Tom Carol,  on Sept. 10th at the Gorge Vale Golf Club tickets available @ $25.
Jean Lister announced that a course for Food Safe and Serving it Right is being offered. Jean also announced the Myrtle Acton would be taking over as Membership Chair as Jean is now off to Winnipeg to spend the summer with the grandchildren.
Margot attended the EMCS graduation at U. Vic and announced that over $95,000 of scholarships and bursaries was given out.
John Topolniski introduced our speaker for today Margot Swinburnson.
Margot offered a very informative talk on our Island Health, Community Health Services offered on the South Island.
 John thanked Margot for her time, the handouts and sharing her knowledge with us. 
John Topolniski then brought the meeting to a close at 1:23pm
