The 1420 meeting of the Rotary club of Sooke was brought to order by our President Margot Swinburnson at 5:53pm.
The club is enjoying another evening meeting at Mai Mai's Restaurant Sooke.
Margot welcomed our guests for the evening. Maggie Flynn, Olivia Hyde, Rene Taylor-Lowen  and our guest speakers Marilyn Ericson and Bevin.
Today is Tom DeZeng's Birthday Unfortunately he is absent so unable to accept our best wishes.
John Topolniski reminded us that the Musical Ride will be held on August 18th/19th and they are in need of Volunteers for Ushers, Ticket Takers and for Set Up and Take Down. Anyone interested in helping out can call John.
Jeannette Wilford will be holding the 3rd annual Lawn Mower Race and Picnic. Sunday Aug 5th at Woodside Farm. 12:00 noon. Pot Luck, bring your own chairs and BYO beverage, all welcome.
Sam Purdy Introduced our guest speakers for the evening. Marilyn Ericson and Bevin. They outlined their initiative to refurbish the tennis courts in town and to add pickle ball court lines and nets to the existing courts. They are busy fundraising and have already received some monies from the District of Sooke for this project. There is a facebook page for more information.
The official part of the meeting was brought to a close a 7:40 after a rousing game of Trivia with the winner receiving a Jar of Pickles.
The next meeting will be held at the Sooke Museum on August 15, at 5:30pm.
