The 1419th meeting of Rotary club of Sooke was brought to order by President Margot Swinburnson at 5:30 pm. The meeting was held at the Sooke Region Museum. 
Margot welcomed our guests, District Governor  Craig Gillis and our Assistant District Governor Joan Peggs. Other guests this evening included, Gwenn Purdy, Margaret Longdale, Rene Taylor Lowen, Anita DeZeng, Duff Johnston, Jeanine Brooks, John Broley and Maggie Flynn.

Joan Peggs then introduced our new District Governor 2018/2019 for District 5020, Craig Gillis. Craig presented a very inspirational talk as to the Whys of Rotary. The  Heart and Science of Rotary, the Why, The How and The What.
Past President Roger Temple awarded the second of the Rotarian of Year Awards to be bestowed this year to Kimberly Legeard.
Neil Flynn was then presented with his Paul Harris #2 and Peter Faulkner has earned his Paul Harris #3.
Jeannette then passed the bed pan wearing her flamingo hat, She is looking for earing to match the hat...
Frank Gertsma was unable to attend this evenings meeting as he is zip lining with his grandson in honour of his birthday. Happy Birthday Frank.
the meeting was adjourned at 7:30pm.
