Chris relayed a somber story of his time over Christmas, some years ago, when working for Canadian Coastguard when a ...---... SOS was received by their ship on Christmas Eve. A Liberian vessel (Pacific Victory)was in distress about 400km south of their current position. It took many hours to travel to the disaster site and although the CC ship spotted a lifeboat no sign of survivors was seen and it was assumed that the 45 crew had perished.
Chris had taken the Coast Guard position shortly after arriving from the UK in 1965
On the 50/50 the Queen remains at large.
Meeting adjourned at 12:15pm
