Patience pays off! One of Sooke Rotary's major projects is some improvements for Sooke Food Bank. While the planning and resourcing of the project is taking a little longer than we originally thought, Bruce & Neil have managed to chunk off two the major quality of life and safety issues for clients and volunteers.

The immediate access to the main door was gravel and is now cement, the entrance floor is now raised so that disabled clients can come right up to the reception table.

There is a new ramp to the storage area so volunteers can transport goods in a safer manner.

Still to come in the project are: improvements to the office space, a larger covered reception/waiting area to facilitate a smoother flow, and xeriscaping at the front entrance. If you have some grasses and interesting rocks you'd like to donate please let Bruce or I know.
