🖋️FROM THE EDITOR
This month's bulletin arrives a little later than usual—and for good reason. We wanted to include one of the most significant events in the Rotary calendar: the Changing of the Guard.
Around the world, Rotary clubs are celebrating the end of one Rotary year and the beginning of another, welcoming new leaders who will guide their clubs through the year ahead. This transition also takes place at the international level.
For 2026-27, Olayinka H. Babalola ("Yinka") has been installed as President of Rotary International, bringing fresh vision and inspiration to Rotarians across the globe.
Here in Longmont, we celebrated the outstanding leadership of Roger Lange and Virginia Choung while welcoming Anne Reynolds-Smith and Clay Douglas as our new Co-Presidents. This edition reflects on an exceptional year of service and looks ahead to an exciting future for our club.

Our noon meetings are in-person and a buffet meal is provided. Lunch is served at 12pm. The actual meeting starts at 12:30 and ends at 1:30 pm.

The First Lutheran Church of Longmont provided the setting for one of the club's most important annual traditions as Anne Reynolds-Smith and Clay Douglas were officially installed as Co-Presidents for 2026-27.
The event celebrated both the achievements of the outgoing leadership and the exciting opportunities ahead.
Members reflected on a year of outstanding service under Roger Lange and Virginia Choung, whose leadership strengthened both the club and the community. Their presidency was defined by collaboration, fellowship, and meaningful service projects that made a lasting difference throughout Longmont.
Accepting the gavel, Anne and Clay outlined an ambitious vision for the coming year that includes:
⭐ Increasing Rotary's visibility throughout the community
👥 Growing membership and attracting the next generation of Rotarians
🌱 Expanding youth leadership opportunities
🌍 Strengthening international service projects
🤝 Building even stronger fellowship among members
The ceremony concluded with heartfelt thanks to Roger and Virginia for their exceptional leadership and a warm welcome to Anne and Clay as they begin a new chapter for Longmont Rotary.

Longmont Seeks Community Designers for New City Flag

Longmont residents have an exciting opportunity to help shape the city's future by designing a new official city flag.
The redesign process holds special significance for Longmont Rotary. The city's current flag was created in 1974 through a Rotary Club of Longmont-sponsored design competition, making Rotary part of the city's history for more than five decades.
Longmont
A selection panel—including Longmont Rotary members alongside representatives from the City's Art in Public Places program—will choose three semifinalists, each receiving $1,000 to develop a design. The winning designer will receive an additional $1,500 once the City Council adopts the new flag.
Applications close July 20.
