Chase Baum received a Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) award. The PHF award is a Rotary International honor recognizing individuals who contribute $1,000 or more to the Rotary Foundation. The award was established in 1957 to show appreciation for contributions that support the Foundation's Annual Fund, PolioPlus, or approved grants.  Chase now serves as a Seaman Apprentice in the United States Coast Guard.  The picture shows his proud parents and sister Brooklyn.  

Oscar Garcia, Chairman and CEO of Interflight Global Corporation, a leading consultancy in air and space transportation, spoke to Longmont Rotary about the future of aviation and high-speed travel.  Oscar highlighted that today's commercial planes can circumnavigate the globe in about four days due to current speed regulations. However, he added that there are aircraft capable of making the journey in just two to three days. He also mentioned upcoming commercial space vehicles that aim to become the first single-stage-to-orbit craft, operating in Low Earth orbit. Oscar's enthusiasm for these technological advancements was clear, and he humorously concluded his talk by suggesting that we all add "faster speed, please" to our next airline survey.
