PROGRAM: Price Park (Reservoir Hill)

In 1882, the Price Park Reservoir began as a 2-million-gallon open-air water reservoir. Joe Michalski, the City of Longmont's Engineering and Operations Administrator, detailed its transformation over the years. Located at 501 Sunset in Price Park, the reservoir has undergone numerous upgrades, culminating in the completion of an 8-million-gallon tank and a new pump station in 2024. Additional site improvements include fencing, landscaping, and an irrigation system. Joe explained that the advanced pumps enhance the city's ability to serve various areas, provide critical water storage during emergencies such as fires and outages, and meet peak demand. The reservoir's updated design also reduced its footprint, creating more park space for the community.
