Message from our Club President

Good afternoon, fellow Rotarians,
These are interesting times, to say the least. We have entered uncharted territory, and a place that reduces our comfort zone. However, in the words of District Governor, Curt Harris, "But we, as Rotarians, with our motto of Service Above Self, are great at seeing the bigger picture and helping make our communities, and the world, a better and safer place."
The First Lutheran Church is now closed through the end of May, thus we will likely continue virtual meetings through June.
The health and welfare of our club members is the primary consideration during these difficult times. If there is something we can do to help you, please let Diane Stow and the Family of Rotary committee know. Diane can be reached via email at
Stay safe and healthy!
Nancy Rezac
President, The Rotary Club of Longmont

Over Half-Way to Our Club Polio Goal
Our Polio campaign continues through May.  Our club goal is to provide 2,000 doses, at $3.00/dose, so we plan to raise $6,000 for Polio.  At present, we are at $3,500.  You can make your donation in several ways:  1) Write a check, payable to Rotary International Foundation and send to Bob Parsons at P.O. Box 272, Longmont, CO. 80502.  2) You can also drop off your check at ACE Hardware, attention: DAN GUST. 3) Make your payment to Rotary International by following this link.
Don't  forget your donation is matched 2:1 from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.  So, if you donate $100.00, your gift becomes $300.00.  The pandemic has not changed our commitment to the eradication of polio.
Volunteers Needed for Micah Homes Project
Our club received a Rotary District Grant to provide the landscaping for the newly completed Micah Homes.  A project of the Inn Between, this complex will provide permanent, supportive apartment units for six low-income elderly or disabled individuals.  We have a tentative date of June 12, 13 and 14th to complete the landscaping.   We need 10 more volunteers.  Contact Chris Ray to Sign-Up

District Conference Date Set!
The Rotary District 5450 Annual Conference has been scheduled for Saturday, August 29th.  Virtual or on-site in Westminster, this event is scheduled to happen, so please carve out time to attend and participate in this conference.  It’s a great chance for Rotarians from other clubs to gather, share ideas and discover news ways to serve our communities and the world.
Membership Matters
Rose Crispin and Sam Smith (Membership Chair) announced our club Membership Campaign. A $150.00 gift card to Sugar Beet will be given to the club member who has the most individuals who JOIN OUR CLUB.  During this time of holding meetings on-line, can  provide a great opportunity to invite a guest.  Meeting in person or virtual, we can still grow our club.
Family of Rotary
Our Family of Rotary Chair, Diane Stow is available to members during this challenging time.  We want to serve and support one another.  If you have needs or know of a club member in need, please reach out to Diane Stow.  You can email Diane or contact her at 303-775-3338.
