Kennedy Walker is the Marketing and Development Manager at Growing Gardens. This busy non-profit has farms in Longmont and Boulder, offering community residents an opportunity to garden, enhance horticulture skills and attend cooking classes. They also have a goat dairy farm (and yes, they also offer goat yoga!). Farm stands are open to the public. Growing Gardens’ programs empower people of all ages, income levels, and abilities by reconnecting them with their local food systems. Thousands of pounds of produce, as well as plant starts and seeds, are donated to low income community members to support greater food security and hunger relief in our community. Their newest pilot farm in Longmont was made possible by Bethlehem Lutheran Church. The donated land is currently under development and Growing Gardens is raising funds for the completion of this project. Volunteers are an important element of their success. Many thanks for the opportunity to enjoy this great meeting space last week. A special thank you to Sue Connelly for making possible the D-Barn location. It also took extra attention of the AV team and our caterer to offer our routine meeting elements. WE WILL ALSO BE MEETING AT THIS SAME LOCATION ON TUESDAY, MAY 9TH.
John Eastman spoke about the importance of each person, your impact and ripple effects of service.

Welcome to Longmont Rotary!
Since 1919, Longmont Rotary has served this community through service projects such as winter coat drives, bell-ringing for the Salvation Army, etc.
“Rotary is a global network of 1.4 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.”
Our club, community, nation, and world need each one of us more than ever. I invite you to be a guest of our club by attending one of our meetings, enjoying our fellowship, and finding out how we can make our community, nation, and the world a better place.
