Congratulations to Dr. Jack Cletcher on receiving the Rotary Club STAR Award. Al Carr presented the award to Jack, recognizing him for his many contributions to Rotary and to the Longmont community.
Charlie Kamenides, Waste Services Manager spoke on the Zero Waste Resolution and the Universal Recycling Ordinance for Longmont. “Our goal is a zero waste resolution with everyone in”.
On September 27, Longmont City Council passed an updated Zero Waste Resolution, a non-binding document that sets new targets and guides future decision-makers on reducing waste in the Longmont Community.
The new Resolution sets a new target of 75% of trash diverted from the landfill by 2030 and 95% by 2050. For more details of this resolution, follow the links below.
A Veteran's Day Tribute on November 8th. Visiting Twin Peaks Rotarian, Rich Schenker invited our club to join their Holiday Party on December 15th. Membership Chair Ben Thompson announcing an upcoming committee meeting.
Ralph Josephsohn shared a few reflections from his recent article published in the Longmont Times Call, entitled Imagine Rotary. Thank you Ralph for taking the time to share Rotary's value with the broader community.

The Twins Peaks Rotary has again invited our club to their Holiday Luncheon. It will be on Thursday, December 15, at Fox Hill, noon til 1:15. The fee is $24 for the luncheon, entertainment of Dualing Pianos and Jim Willard Trivia. Please RSVP to Karen Hicks, along with your check payable to Longmont Twin Peaks Rotary. Jim Britton announced our newest club project. We are helping the organization, HOPE (Homeless Outreach Providing Encouragement) with a Blue Jeans Drive. For the month of November, we are asking club members to gather up blue jeans from your closet, your partner's closet, neighbors, etc. Jim said they need mens and womens new or slightly used jeans or canvas pants Requested sizes are Mens (waist) 30- 36 and womens, 25 to 36. Jim's sign concludes with "Lets pile up those pants and fill these pockets with cash".
