Sue Bolton presented a check for $1,000. to Miguel Valdez on behalf of the Veterans Community Project. This tiny home project in Longmont currently has 7 homes built out of the 26, located off South Anderson Street near Rogers Road. The funds were made possible from the Woohoomanity Bike Ride in September 2022. The club raised approximately $2,000 and half was earmarked for the Veterans project. A BIG thank you to the club for supporting this project. We hope to do another Woohoomanity Fundraiser this coming Fall.

For Lew Miller, Erie Club member and Rotarian, sharing your Rotary experience with others is just what you do! "I owe Rotary my success in business". For Lew the mentoring and support he received early on in his business, along with the fellowship were the reasons for his current passion for Rotary. "I have this fire in my belly", which is why he goes around to other clubs offering this message of encouragement. Lew reminded club members, (especially those long time Rotarians who think they are done contributing), "You have to leave a legacy for those who will come next". It's important for future Rotarians to have the same great experience as you did". Lew reminded the club that Rotary has a branding problem- "Many people do not know what Rotary is and our stories can help explain why you are a Rotarian".
In closing, Lew and Andy Lee did some role playing to show how storytelling can lead to inviting someone to a club meeting.
P.S. Did you know that since our club is a member of the Longmont Chamber of Commerce, we are all welcome to attend any of the chamber events. Check out their website to register.

Welcome to Longmont Rotary!
Since 1919, Longmont Rotary has served this community through service projects such as winter coat drives, bell-ringing for the Salvation Army, etc.
“Rotary is a global network of 1.4 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.”
Our club, community, nation, and world need each one of us more than ever. I invite you to be a guest of our club by attending one of our meetings, enjoying our fellowship, and finding out how we can make our community, nation, and the world a better place.
