The Rotary Club of Longmont joins Denver Mile High and other Clubs in our District to enable a Rotary International Global Grant to the Navajo Nation. This two-year project will teach young Native Americans cyber skills such as networking and security, and will then follow with funded internships at major corporations where they can employ their newly learned skills. Additionally, Longmont Rotary will be installing a Peace Pole near the Rotary Bridge, with easy access from the Dicken's Nature Area parking lot. This 8-foot Peace Pole will have inscribed in eight different languages, "May Peace Prevail on Earth". The eight languages reflect the partnering relationships of Longmont Rotary and the city of Longmont. The installation date has not been determined. This will be the second Peace Pole for Longmont, with the first located in Kanemoto Park.
