Award-Winning Documentary: Carry the Tune-The Importance of Continuing Musicianship Beyond School

Paul Trapkus received his bachelor of music in violin performance and music education at the University of Michigan and his master of music education degree at the University of Colorado Boulder. From 2010-2020, he directed the orchestra program at Silver Creek High School in Longmont, which grew to over 100 students in 3 orchestra classes, a chamber music class, and a fiddle group. His writing has been published by the American String Teacher Journal and Grand Mesa Music, and he serves on the editorial committee for the American String Teacher Journal. As a performer, he has played in the Boulder Philharmonic, Boulder Chamber Orchestra, Flint Symphony, and many summer festivals, including National Repertory Orchestra and Round Top. In 2018, he joined the Longmont Symphony Orchestra as their concertmaster. He recently moved to the Columbus, Ohio area to teach orchestra, grades 6-12 in the Pickerington School District.
