Longmont Rotary Club's 30th Annual Winter Warmth Coat Drive is underway now through Nov. 20th (October 17thh-November 20th)

New and gently-used coats, blankets, hats, scarves, gloves, mittens and boots are being accepted at 20 donation sites across the city.

"This event is the largest single activity for our club and each year we are amazed by the outpouring of support from our community," said Debbie Setlock, Coat Drive committee co-chair.

Donations will be taken to the OUR Center, 220 Collyer St. in Longmont, for sorting, before being distributed on Dec. 4thd to those in need of winter warmth. The center provides emergency resources and longer-term assistance to people experiencing challenging financial and other life circumstances.

The Longmont Rotary Club also provides a financial contribution each year for the purchase of new coats.  “We frequently need new children’s coats and also have a strong need for plus size coats.”

The coat drive began in 1991 with six donation sites and has grown over time with the support of volunteers helping collect, drop-off, sort and distribute the outer garments.

Due to the pandemic, last year’s event was limited to a financial donation.  We are happy that this year we can fully engage our community in this important endeavor and provide a new or gently used coat for those in need.”
