Bill Tobin will talk about ShelterBox, an international disaster relief charity that provides temporary shelter and life saving supplies to displaced families. Bill joined the Rotary Club of El Dorado Hills, California in 2004 and has been volunteering for ShelterBox since the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. Laura Debenham will talk about what social work is, what a social worker does, and the UNR/GBC 3 +1 program. Laura is the Social Work Instructor/Coordinator at Great Basin College.  The University of Nevada School of Social Work in collaboration with Great Basin College (GBC), has developed a 3 + 1 program for students who reside in rural Nevada where students are able to complete the equivalent of the first three years of academic study at GBC and their final year as social work majors through the University of Nevada Reno (UNR).
