20 Rotarians, family members, and friends from the West Reading-Wyomissing Rotary Club started bright and early on April 20 to collect trash. This event was in conjunction with the Rotary Day of Service. Our group collected 20 trash bags along the one-mile section of Papermill Road by the Target Shopping Center our club sponsors. You never know what you might find cantaloupe, pillow, roaster pan, golf towel, wrench, money, and great conversations. Our club performs this highway clean-up twice a year with the help of PennDOT's Adopt A Highway program. Our club has done this for over 30 years!
Environmental Tree Planting Project

As a group Rotarians, from the West Reading-Wyomissing Rotary Club, we planted native trees at West Reading Borough Park and Berks Nature Center. As well as three other parks within the City of Reading. Funds for these trees were provided by a Rotary Foundation Grant to beautify the urban landscapes. Tree planting improves our environment to offset carbon emissions, reduces storm water runoff, provides shade and much more.
A beautiful April afternoon to host a plastic recycling challenge environmental service initiative for the 18th Ward at Oakbrook Brewery as part of the Day of Service. Take the Challenge and transform your plastic bags and wrap into an ecofriendly composite bench. Bring your clean and dryplastic bags & wrap to a Noon Wednesday Rotary meeting or Thursday morning Conversation. We can always collaborate with others to host a collection at their site.
Camp Edmar – Pollinator Garden

Members of the Kutztown and West Reading-Wyomissing Rotary Clubs did a spring cleanup of the new pollinator garden at Camp Edmar in Berks County. Bees and other pollinator insects are already at work on the garden’s native plants.
