The Rotary Foundation transforms your gifts into service projects that change lives both close to home and around the world. Join our virtual zoom meeting on May 20th at noon when we will be honoring Rotarians who have received a Paul Harris Award.
The Rotary Club of West Reading-Wyomissing was awarded a grant from Rotary International Foundation to establish five (5) registered Little Free Library book sharing boxes to be a resource for our community.
Our first completed book sharing box was built partnering with the Hawk Mountain Council Urban Outreach Division. Gage Personnel is the host site located at 101 N. 7th Avenue West Reading, PA. This Little Free Library sharing box is across from Penn State Health Children Center which provides an excellent opportunity for young readers to find and share books.
Our Rotary club donates funds to Rotary International every year to support projects throughout the world. It brings us great pleasure to have some of these funds returned to our local community. Linda Mackey, Rotary’s Little Free Library Committee Chair is facilitating with the following collaborative partners to build and locate additional libraries including the 18th Wonder Improvement Association, Reading Fire Company, Berks Nature Center, Reading Wood Club, Mimmo's Restaurant, Wyomissing Hair Salon, Gage Personnel, Bartlett Tree, and fellow Rotarians. We will be sharing our other Little Free Library sites when they are installed.

CAMP NEIDIG STUDENT SERVICE PROJECT
Fantastic afternoon for Rotary Leadership Camp Neidig student service project at Reading Public Museum (Reading, PA) Arboretum. Maddy from Wilson School District assisted Rotarians Steve Burnham and Gail Landis to remove tree trunk protectors and put watering bags on 20 new trees planted last Fall in the Arboretum.
The West Reading-Wyomissing Rotary is a proud Founding Member of the evolving STEM Youth Explorer Academy (STEM YEA) that will be a four-day three-night residential experience for underserved middle school students in the five-county Rotary International #7430 district. We are engage on the committee and look forward to sharing more about this exciting youth targeted to take place in July 2022 on Albright's Campus. Learn more at STEM YEA xt here
