The Rotary Club of West Reading-Wyomissing applied for and was awarded a grant from Rotary District 7430 to support COVID-19 relief efforts in our local community. We engaged and collaborated with Co-County Wellness Services since that has been key in meeting Berks County response during the Covid pandemic. Carolyn Bazik, Executive Director of Co-County Wellness Services said, “We are grateful to the West Reading-Wyomissing Rotary for their support. The supplies this grant paid for will help keep our clients and staff safe. The food drive will allow us to continue to meet the needs of individuals and families facing food security issues resulting from COVID-19 isolation and quarantine.”
Thanks to our fellow Rotarians and community participants our food drive at the Berkshire Blvd. Redner’s Fresh Market on March 20th was a great success. Click here for more information.
Congratulations to Anna Gutzler from Wilson School District our Rotary 4-Way Test Competition winner that also finished 3rd at our regional competition. Our 2nd place winner was Anisha Aggarwal from Wilson School District and 3rd place winner Sara Steber from Wyomissing School District. It is always amazing how these students are able to identify a topic they feel passionate about and adopt a point of view from which they will seek to persuade others while applying the principles of the Rotary 4-Way Test.
we are . . . Penn state
Thank You Dr. George Grant, Jr., Chancellor of Penn State Berks for joining us on April 15th. It was great to meet the new Chancellor and learn about the campus and his vision for the future. We look forward to establishing a Rotaract Club and seeing great success at Penn State Berks in the years to come.
