The Rotary Club of West Reading -Wyomissing has been assigned a female from Brazil as our 2017-18 Rotary Youth Exchange Student. Any member of the club who wishes to help with our exchange student, or knows someone who could host this student for the 2017-18 school year, please see Carolyne Jordan. We welcomed Tiffany Miller from Berks Connections / Pretrial Services to our meeting. The organization assists incarcerated people as they return to life in the community. Guidance is also provided for their families.
Our local hero, Wyomissing Police Sgt. David Ravel, was recognized for his service to our community!
Road Cleanup
Our cleanup crew was at it again last Saturday, making our section of the county gorgeous! Thank you to Justin for coordinating the effort and Thank You to Homewood Suites for starting us off with a delicious breakfast!
The Big Cheese is coming back, and it's going to be bigger than ever! This year United Way will be packaging 500,000 mac and cheese meals at The Big Cheese III. To accomplish this record-breaking feat, they will be recruiting 1,000 volunteers and offering two different shifts: June 16 from 6 to 9 p.m. and June 17 from 9 a.m. to noon. Save the date now!
Registration will open in April at https://ecommunity.uwberks.org. Spots will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
