This event has been cancelled/postponed by the iHarvest team. We will update you if there is another date we are able to volunteer.
Do you love fresh cut fries? They don't get any fresher than this! The potatoes come out of the ground, are washed and prepared on site and then it's all you can eat!! The only catch? You need to harvest the potatoes to enjoy them. It's a great time to connect with your fellow Rotarians and community members and give back to those in need. This outreach addresses local hunger issues in Berks County PA by growing and producing free food for neighbors in need. Sign up on our website and join the fun. What to bring: Garden gloves, dirty old shoes, sun glasses (anticipating a sunny day), hat, appropriate clothing which will likely get dirty, sun screen, postivie hard working attitude, maybe plastic bags to put your dirty old shoes into for the car ride home, and/or a lawn chair to rest on if you like. A water bottle would be great too, but there is a hospitality tent with beverages while they last.

We have an opportunity to support the Reading Public Museum Arboretum Volunteers with their Annual Cleanup on Saturday, Nov. 7th. They will start at 9 am meeting at the community service garage near the planentarium and end at noon. The event brings energetic volunteers together to help put The Museum’s award-winning grounds “to bed for the winter.” All levels of gardener volunteers are welcome. No experience necessary. Volunteers will help groom the grounds (i.e. raking leaves, sweeping, picking up debris, etc.). You are ask to bring your own rake since the museum has a limited supply. It's a good idea to bring your own gardening gloves, too. The natural beauty of this 25 acre is maintained by a group of volunteers throughout the year. It is a wonderful asset to our community. If you are able to support this service project please email Gail by October 26th or use the registration button on our website. This is a family friendly event. The Arboretum Committee will supply gardening gloves and refreshments. Come and help “polish” one of Reading’s landmark jewels. There is no scheduled rain date for this event. |

Four-Way Test Speech Competition
Mar 18, 2021 12:00 PM
Join us to hear the speeches from Wyomissing and Wilson Students competing in the Rotary Four-Way Test Speech Contest. Students are challenged to identify a topic they feel passionate about and to adopt a point of view from which they will seek to persuade others while applying the principles of the Rotary 4-Way Test. The issue to be addressed should be from the speaker’s personal experience or general knowledge and address a current ethical issue. The 4-Way Test, obligates every Rotarian to apply four tests to all that they think, say, and do. It is a simple checklist for ethical behavior.

We are hosting a food drive for the Co-County Wellness center in conjunction with our 2COVID grant. We are seeking club members to volunteer for an hour at our collection booth on Saturday, March 20th between 9am and 5pm. Use the link below to secure your time slot. https://www.signupgenius.com/ If you are not a member but want to help out, please stop by, purchase some non-perishable food items at Redner's and donate to the cause. Additionally, we are collecting gift cards in any amount so that Co-County Wellness can purchase perishable items as needed. This organization is helping with contact tracing in our county when people are diagnosed with Covid-19. When people are ill and need food because they can't get out to shop, Co-County Wellness has stepped up and delivered food to their home. Our grant is supplying medical supplies to protect their staff and volunteers as well as helping to keep the pantry stocked for these emergency food needs.
