Change Over Night 2017

“The function of leadership is to produce more leaders, not more followers.” (Ralph Nader) We in the Souderton-Telford Rotary Club have been very fortunate, indeed, over these many years that our club leadership has continuously and successfully encouraged and fostered those to come after them.
Rotarians who “move through the chairs” receive an invaluable education, not only in leadership but also in what the ethos of Rotary really is. By the time they reach the role of Club President they have assimilated and absorbed the various qualities of those they served under and are all the readier for their turn.
At our club’s Changeover Night we again witnessed the fruits of that education which is so Rotarian as now Past President Steve Kendra passed the gavel to Leon Moyer, who will lead us in 2017-2018. This annual ceremony is much more significant than many of us might think.
As we listened to Steve’s opening welcome and his final thoughts as President, as we heard and watched the video and slides highlighting the past year’s activities and accomplishments, and as we saw the induction of two new STRC members – we had to reflect on what this club has done for our community, what it means to the community, and how all of our past presidents and other leaders influenced all that.
Welcome Sharon!
Welcome Linda!
And so we congratulate Leon as he assumes leadership of STRC for the coming year, as we also express our appreciation and admiration to Steve for all he accomplished for us, the club and the community!
Leon Moyer, President 2017 - 18
