The Schwenksville Borough Authority is once again presenting the Schwenksville Annual Halloween Parade. The Halloween Parade has been an annual event in Schwenksville since 1956.  The parade was managed in the past by the Schwenksville Chamber of Commerce and the Lions Club.  The Central Perkiomen Rotary Club that owns the 21 acre Baseball Recreational Facility off Cemetery and Township Line Roads has been managing the parade since 2008 when the Lions Club retired.
This year the parade is scheduled to begin at 7:00pm on Thursday, October 27th. Registration starts earlier this year with the advent of our Online Registration Process, more on how that works below. Parade Day Registration begins at 6:00pm at the Heidelberg UCC Church 2nd Ave. & Perkiomen Ave. where participants will line up.
The parade continues down 2nd Street toward the Post Office on Centennial Street. There is a judging platform set up at Jerusalem Lutheran Church to evaluate the floats and costumes. The parade route finished up in the parking lot beside the Post Office where refreshments and entertainment are offered to the participants. This year music will be provided by Bob Paolucci Sound Productions of Schwenksville. Free refreshments will consist of Kona Ice, apple cider, soda, hot chocolate, hot dogs, candy and balloons. Prizes will be awarded in three groups; Individuals ages of 5 and under, Individuals ages of 5 and up, and Best Group.
The Central Perk Rotary has managed the parade for the Schwenksville Borough for the last three years since the Lions Club of Schwenksville was dissolved. While many local businesses contribute to the parade’s success, most of the funding is provided by the Borough. The Rotary Club is joined in their efforts by the Schwenksville, Perkiomen and Skippack fire companies, The Boy Scouts, women’s clubs and church groups.
With the good fortune of having beautiful weather the last several years the parade has grown to over 300 registered contestants while the attendance was estimated at over 700 onlookers. This has caused us to re-think how we do things.  Online registration should be up and running by Monday, 26 September 2011 and will be open until Monday, 24 October 2011.
The way it works:  Registrants must provide: Registrants  Name, Address,  School, Age, Gender and email address.       Families with multiple children registering must register each individually. Up to three children can be registered at one time.
Online registration closes Monday the 24th, each online registrant will receive an email Tuesday the 25th giving them their "Number" which they can print out or write on a 8.5"x11" sheet of paper and attach to the back of their costume.      Anyone unable to print at home can still get a number by waiting in line at the Parade Day Registration Table.    Save time and bring your form already completed.
Online registration can be found at;
