On a snowy night 14 Rotarians and guests braved difficult conditions to attend the Smoky Hill Rotary Club's 43rd Charter Night. Included in this group was District Governor, Cindy Rold. Our event was held at Nonna's Italian Restaurant, which is home to many Smoky Hill dinners.
President Gary noted that every Smoky Hill Rotarian in attendance is a Past President. This commitment to Service Above Self is the hallmark of Smoky Hill Rotary.
Included in our attendees was Charter Member Past President Terry Remigio. Terry has been a Rotarian for 43 years. Terry and Past President Jeff Kaes are the remaining Charter Members in Smoky Hill Rotary. Both are active members of Smoky Hill and we are proud they are part of The Smoky Hill Rotary family.
The Smoky Hill Rotary Board decided at their January meeting not to have a program at Charter Night. This was appreciated by all attendees since festivities were concluded before 8 PM , which allowed everyone to get an early start on what appeared to be difficult driving conditions.
DG Cindy Rold offered some kind words to our group in which she observed the wonderful camaraderie among Smoky Hill Rotarians. This is just one of the reasons that belonging to Smoky Hill Rotary is such a pleasure and honor.
