MEETING NOTES:
President Elect Denny Passantino presided at our meeting today in President Dave's absence.
 
The first order of business for Past President Al Horton to present winning funds for the Super Bowl Raffle.     $750. was raised and minus the funds distributed to winners, Community Services received $530.  A big thanks to Al for a fun event.  By the way Past President Jim Wingert has the final score winner, with Past President Gary Frisch and Hugh Radke being quarter winners.
 
Past District Governor Talee Crowe announced the next Ronald MacDonald House dinner preparation is February 23rd, Tuesday evening. Please be there by 4:15p.m. and the FLU WARNING is in affect.  That is no one under 12 years of age and anyone with symptoms or any illnesses do not attend!   Eight volunteers are needed and if your spouse is going to be in attendance, please sign them up as one of the eight needed.  
 
Overheard:   An event to be reckoned with PDG Talee watched the Super Bowl.
Past President Al Horton returned to the podium to present new member Shawn Whisenhant with his permanent badge.  Congrats and Welcome again Shawn!
 
Another announcement from PP Al is the Valentines Craft Night February 11th, this Thursday at Children's Hospital.   While some members have signed up more are needed.   Please meet in the lobby of Children's Hospital at 5:30 and the event should be over by 8p.m.  Call Al if you can attend this event.

RECENT SPEAKER
Mr.Kevin Risen, Executive Vice President, of Coldwell Banker Real Estate was our speaker today.  Mr Risen gave many facts and figures and quoted three different sources to share that Colorado is the second fastest growth area in the nation at 12% + .   The increase in price of homes is in an upward trend and expected to continue in the future citing the fact that Colorado's population last year grew by 100,000.    Average days on the market in Colorado is currently 19 days and the area continues to have low inventory.   Colorado's luxury market, that is those homes priced over $500,000 is up 12.6%.    87% of Americans still look at owning a home as part of the American dream. Primary way to select homes today is through the internet.   Mr. Risen covered so many facets of the
real estate market it is difficult to share even a portion and was most informative.
