EPIC DAY OF SERVICE:
Fire Safety Education Trailer.  Last year, as a part of the Epic Day of Service, we began fundraising for a Fire Safety Education Trailer for the Aurora Fire Rescue department.  This trailer will be used in the community and in schools to teach children and families fire safety in the home.  Smoky Hill is working with the Aurora Rotary club on raising the $150,000 needed for the trailer.  We are now going after the big money with grants and business donors.  Linda Forsythe is part of the grants committee which is chaired by Hugh Radke. We will submitting a proposal to numerous grant sources that are focused on fire safety and education. Mark your calendar for May 17th, 2025 when we will again be hosting a Fire Safety Field Day as our Epic Day of Service project.

EPIC DAY OF SERVICE
Wow! We did it. We had an Epic Day of Service on May 18, 2024 with Rotarians leading 56 community service projects in Colorado on a single day in May.

More than a thousand volunteers were all over the Front Range and even out in Durango and Trinidad, doing good. We had 63 Rotary clubs completing 56 projects in Colorado. Organizers also estimate that Colorado Rotarians raised $143,000 to support future efforts of individual clubs

FROM THE PREZ:
There’s only so much Rotary Trivia to share so on
the fourth Monday Rotary Meeting, we will be adding a ROTARY MOMENT to our agenda.
A Rotary Moment is a two to three-minute personal story that reflects a highly memorable experience in your Rotary life. It might be an experience that impacted you so greatly that it transformed you from simply being a member of Rotary to becoming a Rotarian, or an experience that you will always remember as a key point in your Rotary Life. I hope this to become a reminder of why we are Rotarians!
