Although the final fundraising numbers aren't in yet, I want to say thanks to all of you for the support you provided! I'd especially like to thank all those who were able to come out! We had a good time and I'm confident that we will see good results.
A special thanks to Gary Frisch, Golf Committee Chair, and those on the Golf Committee.
Thank you also to: Hugh Radke for leading Day of Event, and to Cheryl Radke for coming out early to help with setup. Darryl Harvey, Bev Edwards, Terry Remigio (driving in from Estes Park) and Betsy Jansen for handling registration, raffle and extras. I believe Cindy Hughes was out there as well. Paul Urtz for running the auction Joe Hughes, Clay Fell (and Terry) for stocking the carts, putting up the banners, and sitting on the Par 5 (I always forget what hole that is!). Jacci Mason and SusanMichalakes for taking photos.
All of you who sponsored at a variety of levels and helped in many ways! Jeff Kaes for well wishes from Oberlin, Ohio.
I apologize if I've missed anyone here.
As we continue our tradition of small but mighty I ask that you think about how we can encourage more people to come and celebrate our successes and help us with the Service work that we carry out!
Best wishes,
President Craig
STSK with Jewell Elementary Coming to the Pioneer Hills Walmart
The 21st annual Special Things For Special Kids shopping event is coming this next Saturday, August 20, 9:00 am at the Pioneer Hills Walmart on Chambers and Parker Road. We as Smoky Hill Rotarians will help kids for Jewell Elementary School buy school clothes that they otherwise could not afford. It is a great time to ask friends, family members and people interested in Rotary to come see what Rotarians do. This project only works if we have enough Rotary volunteers to make it work. Please check your calendars!!! I will be asking for signup on Monday and calling for volunteers this coming week.
Meeting On Aug. 15
At this meeting, we will talk about setting up programs for future meetings. None of our current members has volunteered to take this task. The Board has suggested the person assigned to give the Invocation will also set up the program for the meeting. Previous program chairs will talk about how they approach the task and give suggestions.
SPECIAL MEETING AUGUST 29: District Governor, Buchi Anikpezie invites all Area 2 Clubs to attend this meeting at General’s Park, Colfax & Peoria, Aurora. Time has not been set but will be early evening, probably 5 pm. The park is near UC Health. Buchi is a member of eClub One and lives outside our area but will be in town that weekend and wants to personally meet our Club members. Please put that date on your calendar. Specific details will be sent prior to the meeting.
