MEETING NOTES
MEETING NOTES:
Past President II Paul Urtz substituting for President Dave Maxwell opened our meeting with the reminder that this, today, is THE LAST MEETING in MAY.  As Past President Craig Essex in his invocation did tell us about the upcoming holiday next Monday the 30th being Memorial Day.

Social Chair Nancy Jones and her Committee have done a fine job of bringing about successful Rotary Social events. We have been waiting in anticipation as to what and when and where the Invocation Dinner.   Wait no more as Nancy announced today it is scheduled for Sunday, June 26th, 6p.m. at Maggiano's Restaurant, 7401 South Clinton Street.    There will be a cash bar and spouses, friends, etc will be charged $49.00 for the meal with members being charged their regular lunch fee.

Past District Governor Talee Crowe had sign-up sheets today for the next Ronald MacDonald House Dinner Preparation community service event that is scheduled for June 8th, Wednesday.  Talee went over the time commitment for those Rotarians working these events.   To prepare the meal one needs to be at the House by 4:15 p..m.  Dinner must be ready to serve at 6:00 p.m. as the lines start to form by 5:55 p.m.   One volunteer's not just to prepare the dinner but will serve it to House guests, eat with them and stay after for total clean-up.   That time commitment is from 4:15 to about 7:15 p.m., or whenever clean-up is finished.   Eight people are needed so if you did not get your name on the sheet call or e-mail Talee.

May 30th, Monday, is a Holiday and thus NO MEETING.

Golf Co-Chair & Past President Joe Hughes had the news that we are 90 days away from G-Day.....that's Smoky Hill Rotary's Fund Raising Golf Tournament scheduled for Friday, August 5th.  Some of the ways Joe suggested each member can contribute are listed following: Direct Contributions, Volunteer, Hole Sponsor, Sponsor a Four-some.   As of Monday's date he has 7 four-somes signed-up, leaving 36 more for this year's goal.  That is about one four-some per member.
