SHOUT OUT!
Thank you to Hunter Blevins for giving us good information on the Financial Outlook as our featured speaker at the January 13th meeting.  A lot of good questions were generated.

Charter Night
We had a good turnout and lots of fun at the Charter Night on January 26th.  Linda put together a slide show, THIS CLUB, with pictures and stories over the past 42 years.  Come to find out, one of the stories Linda had read about in an old bulletin and told that night, was a complete fabrication made up by Darryl when he needed another story for that bulletin.  Smoky Hill has a lot to celebrate!!

Offsite Visit

Our off-site tour and lunch at the Cherry Creek Innovation Campus blew us away!!
This is a state-of-the-art school for career preparedness that high school students within the Cherry Creek School District attend for part of their day but still take their core classes and graduate from their home high school. They have programs in Aerospace Manufacturing, Pharmacy Technicians, Health and Wellness, Construction,
Automotive Technology, Aviation Maintenance, Business Services, Culinary and Hospitality to name a few.  It is an impressive program that is making such an impact in preparing students for jobs that are critical and in high demand.

Ronald McDonald House

A big Shout-Out for our Ronald McDonald cookers: Betsy Jansen, Linda Forsythe, Craig Essex, Bev Essex, Linda Still (Linda’s friend), and Bruce Lee (Betsy’s neighbor),
We made Chicken Chili, a green salad, Texas toast and cupcakes for about 40 very grateful residents.  It’s always a rewarding experience for us!

Food Bank Drive
Start collecting food items as February will be our Food Drive for the Food Bank of the Rockies.  To kick-start this, for the February 10th meeting, we will have Charlene Moser from the food bank join us.  After lunch, we will work together to make sustainable food bags as the food bank moves away from single-use plastics.  This will be a fun service project and meeting so make sure to be there.
