Installation Banquet 2026
On June 28, the annual transfer of leadership in Smoky Hill Rotary Club took place as outgoing President Gary Frisch wrapped his 2025-26 year and new President Linda Forsythe began her 2026-27 year. It was an evening of remembrance for our past, optimistic forecasting for our future and great fellowship with people we have come to cherish. Congratulations to Gary (now double past president) on an outstanding year. Welcome to President Linda (now double president) for the forthcoming Rotary year.
President’s Awards
President Gary awarded 4 President’s Awards for service to the Club:
  • Lori Kaes for her work to keep the club finances in order;
  • Clay Fell for his many contributions this year-Club Services, working out offsite visits, running our club food drive, Christmas Bell Ringing, and many more;
  • Bev Edwards for her tireless work in International Rotary projects; and
  • Lloyd Gottman for his work as Rotary Foundation chair, as a fierce advocate for Polio Plus and for his work on the Rotary Paul Harris Recognition event.
The Gary Fletcher Rotarian of the Year Award
We are a family of Rotary, so it is fitting that this year’s Gary Fletcher Award goes to two people who have exemplified that virtue in the most profound of ways. Congratulations to Terry and Linda Remigio for being the 2026 recipients of that award. When beloved member Gary Fletcher passed away, Terry and Linda took on the responsibility to watch over Gary’s son, James. They did so with quiet determination and love. James’ passing brings closure to that promise, but the many friends of Gary and James in our club thank Terry and Linda for their unique service.

Congratulations

The evening was a great success as a fellowship event at Nona’s Restaurant. Thank you to Clay Fell for making the arrangements and working with the new owners of Nona’s to make such a satisfying evening.

Here is Linda trying to get us all to sing. Linda, we do not sing.
Gary, we don't dance either.
