We started a new Rotary year on July 1 with a new President, Craig Essex. Big thanks to Craig for agreeing to serve Smoky Hill Rotary for the next year. The new link for the meeting is listed below. We will use this link for the next Rotary year. My personal Zoom link will no longer work.
The meeting on July 11 will be a Club Assembly. President Craig will talk about his plans for the coming year. Please attend, either via Zoom or in person, and share your ideas. The staff at Meadow Hills serves a tasty lunch.

Smoky Hill Rotary Golf Less Than a Month Away
Registration is now open to play in the Smoky Hill Rotary Golf Tournament on August 5. Brochures are available and the information is on the web site: www.portal.clubrunner.ca. This our major fund-raiser for the year. It’s not too early to ask friends and family to support our Club. It’s up to us to make it a success!
If you have not made your own contribution, do so. If you have not contacted your golfers, do so. If you would like to write a $20,000 check to support the tournament-really? Do so.
Raffle Items Needed-
An integral part of the Golf Fundraiser is the raffle. We need items to raffle off! Some suggestions:
Gift baskets are a big item. Make your own or contribute items to be assembled into baskets. Wine and wine related items are always a welcome donation.
Gift certificates to hotels and restaurants.
Gift certificates to golf courses.
You can contact Talee Crowe for any questions or ideas for great auction items. She will be in charge of assembling gift baskets, etc. but will accept help if offered.
New Rotary Initiative on Mental Health
With a mental health crisis occurring nationally and in Colorado, a committed group of Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Highlands Ranch is currently working on a large partnership with Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation and the Mental Health Institute.
The Rotary Endowed Fellowship for Pediatric Mental Health will be an impactful legacy program and they are currently seeking partnerships and support from Colorado Rotary Clubs that would like to join them in their mission.
This program is different than most Rotary programs as it is philanthropic in nature. As an endowment, the Rotary Endowed Fellowship for Pediatric Mental Health in partnership with Children’s Hospital Colorado and the Mental Health Institute, will live on forever. The campaign to reach the fully funded endowment level of $500,000 will require presenting the program to Rotary Club members, Club Foundations, and potential individuals, businesses, and corporate partners. The goal is to raise $500,000 as soon as possible.... as the fellowship cannot be funded until then. They launched this program just a few months ago and, due to the urgent nature of the current crisis of youth mental illness in Colorado, they have already received $160,000 + in pledges from generous donors and through the support of their own Club Foundation. Still, they have a long way to go.
The really special part about their vision is together, as Colorado Rotarians, this endowment will be funded. Therefore, signage at Children's Hospital Colorado will indicate Colorado Rotary Clubs have endowed each fellow. A much-overused phrase... but, nonetheless, it will 'take a village'. The urgent need cannot be understated.

Three Rotarians are spearheading this effort, along with the Highlands Ranch Rotary Club's Pediatric Mental Health Committee. Let them know what questions they can answer and if you would like to schedule a full 30-minute presentation for your club. This is a great opportunity for our Area 2 Rotary Clubs to become involved in a project much larger state-wide project that will have far reaching results for Coloradoans!
