Scholarships Available to Local High School Seniors

The Rotary Club of Industry Hills is again providing Scholarships to high school seniors in the Bassett and Hacienda La Puente Unified School Districts.  There are two (2) Scholarship opportunities and one (1) loan opportunity.

Seniors are to contact their college counselor for the applications.  APPLICATION/S WITH ATTACHMENTS ARE TO BE SENT TO:

The deadline is Friday, March 4, 2016.

These opportunities are:

  1. KEN & LILLIAN ROGGY SCHOLARSHIP

Only open to students in the Bassett and Hacienda/La Puente School Districts.

  1. INTERACT CLUB SCHOLARSHIP (Complete pages 2, 3 & 4).

Only open to students at Bassett High School and Wilson High School.

            3.   KEN AND LILLIAN ROGGY LOAN (Complete pages 2, 3 & 5).

Only open to students in the Bassett and Hacienda/La Puente School Districts.

The Scholarship recipient must be a graduating senior of a high school located within the boundaries of the Bassett or Hacienda La Puente Unified School Districts, must enroll in a post-secondary institution, and must take a full course load.

The criteria to be considered for awarding scholarships and loans are:

  1. Demonstrated high scholarship (a minimum of a 2.5 GPA).
  2. School and community activities demonstrating the Rotary concept of “SERVICE ABOVE SELF”.  Active participation in an INTERACT CLUB will be given considerable weight for the Ken and Lillian Roggy Scholarship (pages 2 & 3), but is required to apply for the Interact Club Scholarship (pages 2, 3 & 4).
  3. Potential for success in college.

The application/s must be filled out completely.

One (1) set of the following must be attached to the application/s:

  1. A copy of the current high school transcript
  2. Three letters of recommendation (One must be from a high school faculty member).

Applicants may be required to meet with the Rotary Scholarship Committee.

Scholarship and Loan recipients will be notified by April 15, 2016.
