Brenna Ewing
Santa Cruz's SPCA

Brenna joined the SPCA in 2006 as Humane Educator because of her strong belief that education is the most effective way to impact animals and to promote a humane, progressive society by teaching compassion and respect for all living things. She now manages both the Humane Education program and the Volunteer program.  Brenna has worked in animal care, placement, and education at local shelters for more than 20 years. She reaches more than 5,000 children, adolescents, and adults annually through interactive presentations in classrooms and other educational settings, and she also directs the SPCA Summer and Winter Kids’ Camps and a series of popular youth volunteer programs.  Brenna has two children of her own as well as a parrot and a dog both adopted from shelters she was working at.
