Today's speaker was Nancy Macy, Chair of the Valley Women's Club Environmental Committee.  Nancy was a founder of the Valley Women's Club in the '70's, now as chair of the Environmental Committee is active in working to protect the SLV watershed and the educate the public on forestry issues, erosion control, hazardous waste, recycling and other issues.  The group also monitors government policies and procedures.  The main topic today was PG&E's current practice of removing so many healthy trees in the wake of the CZU-complex fire.  Nancy and the groups the Environmental committee is working with maintain that PG&E is not maintaining their infrastructure in a safe manner and improperly removing trees without getting proper permits.  See www.valleywomensclub.org/ environmental-issues for more information.
