The club met at the SLV USD Offices today with Assemblyman Mark Stone as the speaker.  Mark will be termed out in the next election cycle and is looking forward to becoming a private citizen again.  We expect to see more of Mark in the future.  He is a member of the Scotts Valley Rotary Club.  Among the topics he addressed today: in the aftermath of the CZU complex fire which devastated large parts of the SLV several initiatives are underway including "fuel" reduction, selective vegetation thinning, and efforts going toward forest diversity.  Mark also highlighted the improvement in California schools investment, going from 48th in the nation when Mark took office to 10th place now.
