If you read ahead to the next section, or remember last week's meeting, you'll know that it was all business. This week it's anything but business.
Schmooze, according to Merriam-Webster, is to "converse informally : chat".
There may be more subversive interpretations, e.g. "to chat in a friendly and persuasive manner especially so as to gain favor, business, or connections". However, we at Newark Rotary just schmooze to relax, get to know each other and have a good time.
Come join us!
Meeting time: 12 noon, Tuesday, March 6
Location: Bistro 880 in the Newark DoubleTree Hotel.
Last Week at Newark Rotary
Club Assembly
with
Paul Harris!
As promised, last week's meeting was all business - almost.
Rather than a regular speaker meeting, we focused on important financial, administrative and other business, that every member should be tuned into.
We're glad you were there!
In case you missed it, for some of us, the highlight was when Jim Estep received a Paul Harris Fellow award he will be presenting to his youngest daughter Jennifer Estep.
One of the greatest gifts a Rotarian can give to someone they care about is a Paul Harris Fellow award. Some of our members have given the award more than once to one person who is especially important to their lives. Some have given the award to several different people.
It is truly an honor to receive such an award and it is an act that is truly beneficial to all concerned when you give the award to someone.
Who do you have in mind?

A Word From the President:
Fun
Something that came up a few times in last week's Assembly is the idea that members want Newark Rotary to be fun. Even more than we already are.
This is the week. Schmoozing is fun for all, beneficial for all concerned, likely to build goodwill and better friendships, and truthfully, at the risk of being repetitive, fun. I'll let you decide if it's fair to all concerned.
And for those of you who've already forgotten what fun we had, along with a bit of work, at our 36th Annual Newark Rotary Crab Feed, take a look at the unedited album of pictures from the event:
