Last Week at Newark Rotary

Recover and Reflect

After all the work we put into producing a successful 36th Annual Crab Feed, we took last week off from all meetings.

A Word From the President:

Planning!

"The best laid schemes o' mice an' men
Gang aft agley"

or, as one more modern English update has it,

"The best-laid plans of mice and men
Often go awry"

Last week we rested from the hard physical work of hosting our 36th annual crab feed. Jan has been busy tabulating the financial results of the event.

As a club, we pulled together in response to the unavailability of crab for our original January 27 date. Despite the challenge, we did a great job of entertaining a large crowd and raised money for grants we will issue this Spring.

Now that the planning and hard work of our crab feed are behind us, we are preparing to put some careful thought and planning into how we can make Newark Rotary even stronger than ever.

I hope you are as excited as I am about the prospects for our club in coming years. And I hope you will pitch in on the work of planning for a very bright future for our club.

Perhaps sunglasses are not a requirement for the bright future of our club, but the idea of a bright future for Newark Rotary certainly holds up. A little planning can go a long way toward making that future a reality.
