Over the years, the Rotary Club of Morgan Hill has supported those in need, both locally and around the world. The Rotary Club of Morgan Hill has supported local organizations that operate free clinics, help purchase school supplies for children in need, teach children the fun and appreciation of art, provide musical concerts to elder care facilities, educate the community about and rehabilitate endangered wildlife, and provide community Fourth of July festivities through its Community Grant and Hearts of Rotary Grant programs.
 
 
Online applications for current grant cycle are being accepted between December 1, 2022 through February 28, 2023.
 
Grants are typically granted in amounts from $250 to $1,500. Organizations may make separate applications for more than one project. If your organization has a significantly larger financial need, maybe our Foundation can assist you through our Rotary Grants at https://my.rotary.org/en/take-action/apply-grants/global-grants.

Grant Requirements
 
  • Community Grants are available for only tangible or capital items (e.g., equipment, furniture, appliances). Grants are only accepted from philanthropic organizations (not individuals) which provide benefits to the Morgan Hill community.
  • Hearts of Rotary Grants are available for project expenses or consumable/limited use items and only to IRS tax exempt organizations which provide benefits to the Morgan Hill community.
  • All grants must be used for a charitable purpose by an organization that is clearly philanthropic in nature. Contributions are NOT made to individuals or for activities that are promoting specific religious or political viewpoints. Please note that the Rotary Club of Morgan Hill Rotary has additional programs for scholarship awards and for vocational career development.Therefore, Community and Hearts of Rotary Grants are not be awarded for scholarships to an educational institution or to individuals seeking to enhance their vocational career development.
  • Grants must provide a specific benefit of residents of the Morgan Hill Community as defined by the boundaries of the Morgan Hill Unified School District.
  • Applicant awarded a grant agree to publicly acknowledge the contribution in a way that promotes community awareness of the Rotary Club of Morgan Hill.

              Rotary Club of Morgan Hill is seeking local organizations to apply by February 28, 2023 for $22,000 in community grants to help fund philanthropic projects or programs.
 
              Grants providing financial assistance to help organizations fulfill their missions are offered in two categories, “Community Grants” and “Hearts of Rotary.”
 
              For Community Grants, the club will fund tangible items that provide enduring benefit to many, such as technology, furniture or equipment. Organizations are not required to be designated nonprofits, but their project must have a specific community benefit.
 
              Hearts of Rotary grants are limited to 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations or other IRS tax exempt organizations and must be used for community benefit, and may be used to cover program operating expenses, such as staffing, facility expenses and non-tangible items.
 
              In general, successful requests have focused on projects or programs that benefit youth, seniors, education or community benefit in the Morgan Hill area, as defined by the boundaries of the Morgan Hill Unified School District.

The February 28, 2023 deadline is for the 2022-23 grant cycle; grant funds are expected to be awarded in May 2023.
 
              The Rotary Club of Morgan Hill awarded $11,000 in its last grant cycle to support 16 projects and programs. Last year grant recipients were Alma Bonita Animal Rescue, BookSmart Community Advantage, Edward Boss Prado Foundation, Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen, Morgan Hill Art School, Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Morgan Hill Unified School District – Central High School, Morgan Hill Unified School District – Sobrato High School, Operation Freedom Paws, Poppy Jasper International Film Festival, Rasur Foundation International, RotaCare Bay Area, Inc., Santa Clara County Library District Foundation, South County Cal-SOAP Consortium, Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center and the Wings of History Air Museum.
 
              For 67 years, Rotary Club of Morgan Hill has supported a variety of organizations, including those that operate free medical clinics, purchase school supplies for children in need, teach children the fun and appreciation of art, provide musical concerts to elder care facilities, educate the community about and rehabilitate endangered wildlife, run summer enrichment programs for disadvantaged youth, and provide transportation to otherwise isolated seniors.
 
              Rotary Club of Morgan Hill is a service organization whose members include business and professional leaders and people who are committed to community and international service.  The Morgan Hill club is a part of Rotary International, which provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world.
