“These grants are just one of the ways the Rotary Club of Morgan Hill serves our local community,” said Dave Allen, this year’s Community and Hearts of Rotary committee chair. Over the years, the club has also awarded almost $120,000 in college scholarships to Morgan Hill students.

In addition to monetary contributions to the Morgan Hill community, the over 100 club members have invested the time and energy to plan and execute numerous events and projects. Since the club’s inception Morgan Hill Rotarians have donated approximately $1,000,000 in materials to community projects, including downtown holiday decorating, the annual Harvey Barrett Senior Dinner for 300+ seniors, construction of Community Park Softball Fields Score Shacks and the Bocce Ball Court at Senior Center. Other projects over the years have included: Landscaping the historic Villa Mira Monte and the Morgan Hill Community & Cultural Center Rose Garden. In addition to supporting the local community, the Rotary Club of Morgan Hill has worked with other Rotary clubs to support those in need in Africa, Asia, Central and South America. These humanitarian projects have included providing clean water, medical and school supplies and equipment, disaster relief to name a few. Bringing an international view to Morgan Hill, local Rotarians have hosted foreign exchange students from Brazil, South Africa, Russia, Spain, Puerto Rico, Ghana, Bosnia, Argentina, and other countries. The efforts of the Rotary Club of Morgan Hill have earned numerous recognitions including the Rotary International Presidential Award, and Rotary District & Zone Literacy Awards.
