Forty-four applications from non-profits were awarded grants that totaled $27,000. The grants issued ranged between from $250 to $1,500. The Rotary Club of Morgan Hill Board of Directors increased the budget for grants by $3,000 to $27,000 and approved the Grant Committee's recommendations at its December 16, 2025, meeting. Recipients will be recognized at the club's March 25, 2026, meeting.
 
The club received 76 applications from non-profits serving the Morgan Hill community, just 4 shy of the record number received last year. The total dollar requested was $168,533, with the average request of $2,218. The Community and Hearts of Rotary grant application deadline were October 31. Grant applications were reviewed in November, and recipients were notified and will receive funding in December.

Grant Types

  • Community Grants are available for tangible or capital items (e.g., equipment, furniture, appliances). 
  • Hearts of Rotary Grants are available for project expenses or consumable/limited use items.

Grant Requirements

  • Grants must provide a specific benefit for the residents of the Morgan Hill community as defined by the boundaries of the Morgan Hill Unified School District.
  • Grants are only accepted from philanthropic organizations (not individuals) which provide benefits to the Morgan Hill community and from a tax exempt organization meeting IRS charitable deduction rules, e.g., possessing or operating under a current 501 (c) (3) designation or certain 170 (c) tax exempt entities that are requesting a grant exclusively for a public purpose. 
  • Additional requirements for a grant are noted in the grant application.
  • Contributions are NOT made to individuals or organizations for activities that promote specific religious, political viewpoints or the applicant’s organization, its fund raising or marketing efforts. 
Rotary Club of Morgan Hill is a service organization whose members include business and professional leaders and people who are committed to community and international service. The Morgan Hill club is a part of Rotary International, which provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world.
