Burrito Bash Revival - October 3

at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds

10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Image The Burrito Bash is back. We are searching for Central Coast restaurants with the best burritos to participate in the Burrito Bash at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds on October 3, 2015. We have a burrito jury to select the contestants, as too many restaurants surely will want to compete.

Burritos are the featured meal at the Burrito Bash. There will only be a limited number of preselected burrito booths from our region’s best restaurants. This year they will receive all of the proceeds from food sales during the event. We anticipate over 5,000 attendees. The last time it was held at the Fairgrounds in the 1990s over 20,000 people attended. Additional attendance will be generated by the Ocean Speedway, which will run on Friday prior to the event and the night following.

Best Burrito winner, and runners up, will receive an award to display in their restaurant, as well as accolades in all post event publication for theBurrito Bash, and local media coverage. Restaurants should end in an application with a $100 deposit (refunded if not selected). If a restaurant is selected for its competition quality burritos, the balance is due by August 1st.

The Fairgrounds offer a wonderful family friendly venue for the Burrito Bash. There will be music and activities. Of course, the highlight of the day will be judging of the Best Burrito, as well as a jalapeño eating contest. The Burrito Bash is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Freedom and the Pájaro Valley Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture. All proceeds will benefit local civic and charitable activities.
